Mileage is an estimate. I'll check to be certain. Extremely rare chevy corvair van. Listed at 5 doors because that's the maximum ksl thinks a car can have, this one has 8. The vast majority of the panel vans were six door, two for the front seat, two in the rear and two on the passenger's side. This one has two extra doors on the driver's side to load from either side. One thing that is unique about the corvan is that all eight doors open a full 180 degrees to make loading/unloading, getting in and out, etc., really easy plus it looks really cool. I want to say that the driver's doors open 180 but i honestly don't remember. The body is a 1961 but the engine is a larger 1964 2. 7 liter (164 cid) that's rated at about 95 hp according to a corvair expert that looked at it. The van was purchased to be fixed up into a tailgating vehicle but due to several circumstances that didn't happen. The van has two bench seats and can seat six. I believe it's possible to mount a third seat but this is more of a cargo rig than a passenger. The bench seats are covered with seat covers that are in good shape. I haven't looked under them to see what the actual seats look like. The outside is primered and needs a little extra work to take care of a couple of rust spots on the cargo doors. There are a couple of spots where it looks like there is a little bondo but i still get a magnet to pull on them so i'm thinking it might just be a skim coat. The van does need a little work to make it driveable. The engine itself is sound with both carburetors recently rebuilt. An electric fuel pump has been added to replace the notoriously unreliable mechanical pumps originally included. The engine does leak a bit of oil. Possibly from a valve cover on the right side or possibly the famed pushrod leak corvairs are known for. Mechanics have told me either is easily fixable. Somewhere along the line someone did a really horrible job lowering the van. I do, however, have the spings and will include them with the van. The clutch engages right at the top which could just be an adjustment or possibly new pads. Also the van does have the noted corvair "shifter slop". This also is easily remedied by replacing the pin that connects the shift rod to the transmission. All in all, it's just a bunch of little things but at this point i don't have the time or the proper tools to finish it. It's been sitting in enclosed storage for about two years. The motor has previously fired up just fine but the last time i tried it it would turn but wouldn't catch. I think the last drive we took may have run it out of gas. Call or text with any questions.
