This has been an awesome car for us for the last seven years. It would be the perfect vehicle for a first time driver. This 2002 izuzu rodeo has been well maintained with regular oil changes and the occasional trip to the repair shop for minor fixes. It is probably an easy fix, but i haven't ever had it looked at. -the owner before me added some weird security system that can malfunction. The hazard lights will turn on and horn will try to sound almost every time the vehicle is unlocked with a key. To combat this i have taken the fuze for the horn out. Using a unlocking button also stops this. It hasn't been a big deal. -when the engine is cold the transition from first gear to second gear is not smooth (it is an automatic). I bought a new car and was planning to keep this as my back-up car, but then decided I didn't want to maintain 2 vehicles. The car has around 85k miles on it, but the engine is re-built and only has about 20k miles since being rebuilt. The body and interior are in great shape and the tires are nearly brand new (about 10k miles on them)
