This disco is in overall good shape and was running perfectly until just recently when it started running a little rough and lost power. It doesn't overheat, it will just after several miles decide to lose power and stop. Once it sits for about five or so minutes, it will start back up and is drivable. I did have a mechanic look at it (he looked at it loosely at best) and he mentioned it might be a head gasket.

2003 land rover discovery with extremely low miles; under 80,000! I have had the truck for 6 years and have put 40,000 miles on it. It has two full sets of wheels and tires, including the spares (that's 10 wheels and tires)! Both sets still have plenty of life left on them. The truck has an arb front grill guard that has a place to mount a winch and spotlights. The air ride suspension has been updated and replaced with traditional suspension, so no need to worry about air leaks. Heated leather seats. Wired to tow with a brake controller. 5 disk cd player. All-time 4-wheel drive. I always planned to turn the truck into a rock-crawler, but it is time to pass my dream on to someone else, since in the last 6 years it has pretty much never left the pavement. Like all discos the truck leaks oil. It has a crack in the front window along the bottom, so it is not in the line of sight for the driver at all. I also had to install an aftermarket horn button (mounted to the dash). It is a great vehicle for the price (the gill guard and extra set of wheels would cost that much or more new) and would make an excellent off-road project or first vehicle. Mileage is estimated - battery is dead. I have not had it looked at or even tried to investigate whats wrong, although pretty sure the engine is toast or would need a rebuild. Engine died a couple of years ago and spilled oil and antifreeze on to the road

A perfect project for a hobbyist, off-road enthusiast, or mechanic's special. Starts, runs and drives, however the head gasket needs replaced. This was my wife's baby! I have put a lot into this land rover to make it nice, but do not have the time to replace the head gasket and machine the heads. Never been in an accident, clean title, no water damage. It also has a lot of newer parts. New headlights, 5 new nitto terra grappler tires, new power stearing pump, water pump, radiator, thermostat, new battery, rear bumper, jumpseats. All in all, there is about $3000 in parts put into this beast, and about $4000 in labor. This would make a great project for an ambitious off-road enthusiast. Due to the condition of the head gasket, i would recommend this vehicle be trailered home and then repaired so as not to cause engine damage.

But it has the tick we have driven it for years with the tick we change the oil on time that helps. It has been a good car it has taken us to Disney land Yellowstone and on countless trips to the lake. We did the cooling system mod and the tick went away for two weeks

Things to consider: I've taken this to the land rover dealership and they told me that this car will eventually need a new/used engine because of the oil leak and tick noise. This car is ideal for winter and snowy roads; in addition to the heated seats, heated windshield, and heated mirrors.
