I've owned this car since 1994. It was in an accident and has front end damage, but i'm not sure if it's totaled. I'd like to have someone buy it who can restore it or use it to put life into another 240.

The steel rollcage, bulletproof exterior, and endless right angles makes me pity any car that has ever had a collision with one of these. I already have the driver side one ready to be put in and they sell for $4 on rockauto. Com - rear left taillight kit and taillight connectors/circutboards. The stock boards on these things are prone to corrosion so i hand wired it but it's not a longterm solution. (~ $100 for all the necessary parts). I'm in no rush to see it gone.

This is the only 242 that i've seen actually driving around. I bought it in december 2015. A local mechanic installed two new fuel pumps then to get it running properly. Since then i've been driving it twice a month from provo to logan for a year with no issues. It recently started to stall randomly and it seems to be the fuel injectors but i don't know, hence the low asking price. I am firm on the price.

For sale is my 1979 242 gt with 177k original miles., this as an excellent example of a very rare car and this one is in outstanding condition. Motor is strong and runs very well, i would drive it anywhere. Interior is also in fantastic shape no tears on the cloth and no cracks on dash . Body is also very very good with paint very shiny and body panels straight. Car is all original with the exception of a respray and an upgraded suspension with poly bushings, ipd lowering springs and bilstien hd shocks and struts. And an ipd sport exhaust. I have also had a brand new clutch and clutch cable professionally installed within the last 500 miles. There are a few blemishes starting to show on the paint, the grille is faded and the rims could use refinishing. I have a few extra parts to go with her if the price is right. I have only seen one of these in better condition that this one.

Interior is in excellent shape and exterior is good with no rust. Very well looked after and ready to go. Motor, transmission, and suspension are all solid with no issues or leaks. It has been lowered with lowering springs and shocks replaced with koni shocks. It has 2 amps the one if powerbass and is 2000 watt amp. 219,xxx on the body engine was rebuilt 10000 miles ago. The other is to provide ower for the macintosh speakers. need gone asap also come withs a group a spoiler. Has a touch screen deck and 2 Macintosh speakers

Starts every time and runs very well. Was owned by a mechanic for the last 20 years so mechanically everything has been maintained. It has been used though. The two problems i've had is the instrument (speedometer and tachometer) cluster needs to be fixed (got an estimate from vintage volvo in slc for $200) and there is an intermittent short in the driver side brake light which should be an easy fix. The interior is relatively good considering how old it is. Pioneer deck and new speakers. Would make for a good first car for any teen that needs some humility lol. Text or call with questions.
