Has been in the family for a long time and the following has been done in the last year or so: New paint, brakes, suspension, alternator, fuel pump, timing and a complete overhaul of the engine. Also had a small front end mishap on the parking lot (see pictures). The not so good: engine was allowed to overheat (guilty grandpa) and needs to be rebuilt

This is a very clean 1981 rabbit. Perfect for a restoration project. I bought it because of the minimal body work needed. The car has straight lines, a couple spots of surface rust, and a dent or two. I'm sad to be selling it. Soon after i purchased the car my transmission went out on my truck. I need to sell so that i may pay for my truck. The vehicle is in decent shape. Pros: really clean body minimal surface rust (2 spots) new tires run and drives recently fixed all the door handles. Rear hatch hydrolic works great exterior lights & blinkers work interior is in great condition for the age of the vechicle cons: needs new shocks. (that was my first planned project) engine could use some tlc. Interior lights don't work radio turns on but i believe it just needs new speakers. Driver rear window roller is off, i have the roller with the vehicle. Needs headliner overall this is a great project car. It is not perfect but such a fun cool car to have. I'm sad to see it go but need the money. Contact is best in the evenings after 6.

I’m selling a 1981 volkswagen rabbit truck. They are quite rare, and are good little trucks. I’m sad to see it go, but no longer need two vehicles. It is a manual transmission, and shifts very well. It has a diesel engine, and gets great fuel mileage. It currently has 177,235 miles showing on the odometer.. The truck has a rebuilt engine, we believe that it may be from a jetta. I do not know how many miles are actually on the truck. The horn did not work when i bought the truck originally so a button was installed on the dash for the horn when it was rewired. The truck has had a lot of work done. It has newer paint, new rino liner in the back and new horn. The original paint was cream, and the gold is very close to the original. It has recently had both front cv axles and right front wheel bearing replaced. It has also had the tire rods and brake lines replaced. The truck runs great. Gets great gas mileage (40 miles/gallon). Tires are in good condition. Radio, heater/defrost and windshield wipers work well. Both windows roll down without issue. It is in good condition for its age, and is clean inside. There are no rock chips or cracks in the windshield. There are a few minor dents in the body but no rust. The driver’s side door will only lock/unlock from the inside. The key will no longer unlock the door. The driver’s side speaker for the radio still works; however the cover for the speaker has come off. It would be a quick / easy repair. There is no longer a headliner in the cab of the truck. There is a crack in the dash, but it is in great condition for the age. The truck runs great, but volkswagens manufactured in this era (1980s) do run loud. The truck no longer needs emissions due to it age and being a diesel. It only needs a safety, and it should pass. It has a turbo engine, and is really quite fun the drive. Cash or money orders only, and only serious inquiries, please.

Me and my brother had this as a project truck that we were restoring together. Odometer broke this last summer and so 96000 is an estimate on the miles. Just replaced the injectors.. Gets great fuel mileage

New injectors, injection pump, timing belt, radiator hoses, rubber fuel lines, oil pan gasket and a few others that were leaking, shocks, struts, rear leaf springs (also added a leaf in rear to prevent sagging) brakes, emergency brake cables, added an aftermarket fuel lift pump, windshield washer pump, tank, fluid lines, and wiper motor. I bought this a few years ago as a project/hobby truck but have lost interest and moved on to other things. The list is pretty long of things repaired and replaced so i will just list the biggest things

Rebuilt injection pump by goff diesel new continental timing belt and sfk tensioner fresh oil change at 103,329 miles with rotella t6, oil filter, and fuel filter replaced at that time mk3 1 piece valve cover gasket all new coolant hoses, coolant reservoir, reservoir cap, coolant brand new battery victor reinz 3 notch head gasket and headbolts windshield replaced bosch glow plugs and 6 second relay intake, exhaust manifold, and turbo downpipe gaskets exhaust manifold studs and copper crush nuts shifter bushings rack and pinion, l&r tie rod assembly, tie rod boot kit, rack bushings, l&r strut mounts with bushings, f&r control arm bushings, kyb front shocks aligned by ability automotive alternator, battery cables, exciter wire and ground strap replaced this truck has been my daily driver since the end of november. It is a lot of fun to drive. No rust in the strut towers or floor pans. The bed has been used so it is beat up with surface rust only. I also have a camper shell for it.

this has been a fun project truck for me but i have just ran out of time. odometer broke this last summer so i'd say that there is around 96000 on it. i also have a shell with a roof rack and led lights on it.. i have an extra set of 4 tires for it as well. little pickup that i've been using as a run around. needs a couple cosmetic things like a back bumper
